Dr. Mónica Sánchez-Flores is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Thompson Rivers University (TRU); where she teaches social theory, globalization and diversity courses. She has also engaged in equity (anti-discrimination or anti-oppression) training since 2009. She has published two books with Palgrave-Macmillan on social and political theory where a main line of argumentation is that genuine cosmopolitanism ought to include the principle of compassionate morality. Through this work, she has expanded her academic interests to topics such as multiculturalism, immigration, diversity, and equity. She is currently the President of the Thompson Rivers University Faculty Association (TRUFA).
